The fifth annual EC 5K for a Cause was held on Friday, May 27.

The 5K for a Cause will be held on our campus. Current EC students, along with EC alumni, participated by walking or running. Each year, EC student government designates a specific cause to receive the benefits of our race. This year, they designated D.R.A.W. (Disaster Relief at Work) as the cause. D.R.A.W. is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to send relief in the form of volunteers and supplies to those affected by tornadoes, hurricanes, and floods.  In addition, the high school students, faculty, and staff will be offered a Mass for all of the people associated with the D.R.A.W. prior to the race on May 27.

Greg Martin, executive director of D.R.A.W., came out to speak to the students and participate in the run. He shared recent stories about the group’s response to the tornado in Gaylord. He also described all the hard work and preparation required to be ready to response to a disaster in a quick and organized way.

Congrats to our winners!
