The Father Daniel Pajerski Scholarship was established in 2018 by Charles and Beth Phyle to honor Father Daniel’s legacy and 14 years of service at Everest Collegiate High School & Academy. The scholarship, in the amount of $6,000, will be awarded to one graduating senior per academic year. The graduating senior will attend either a Catholic or Christian-based college, university, or religious house of formation such as a seminary or convent.
The scholarship recipient will possess a rich store of knowledge, a love for the truth and a set of skills, and habits necessary to tackle higher learning. The scholarship recipient’s character will be grounded in virtue and will demonstrate the ability to master action and choice. The scholarship recipient is expected to continue to grow in their relationship with Christ and exhibit a spirit of service to others. The scholarship recipient will be well-rounded in spiritual, apostolic, human and intellectual formation.
This year the scholarship committee is pleased to recognize EC senior and soon-to-be graduate Mary Beth Williams as the 2020 Fr. Daniel Scholarship recipient. The committee recognized Mary Beth’s qualities and talents in the award letter. “While we valued your application highlights of stellar achievements both scholastically and as an apostolic leader, your essay describing your faith journey is what sets you apart. Your time at Everest may have played a significant role in your journey, but as you describe there became a time when the choice became yours. We have no doubt that you will continue to grow your relationship with God and find your vocational path that will be a true gift to others. We are grateful that you are a part of the thread of Everest and we know that you will go on to fulfill God’s unique plan for you.” Congratulations, Mary Beth!
Mary Beth will be attending Franciscan University of Steubenville this fall.
