Everest’s fourth-grade classes participated in their own Oregon Trail experience after learning about it in class. They traveled around Everest’s campus making various stops. Mrs. Motyka shared a narrative of the group’s adventure, “We made stops at Fort Kearney where we had an opportunity to restock forgotten or used supplies, Chimney Rock where we saw the 325ft. spire, Independence Rock where we signed our name in the granite dome, Fort Laramie where we eased the burden of our oxen by sacrificing items, and Soda Springs where we tasted the natural bubbling springs. We also stopped for a “nooning” along our journey to eat dinner. I am happy to report that we all made it safely to Oregon!”
