In 2021, Everest implemented the Nancy Larson science program in elementary classrooms. The Nancy Larson program adds values to Everest’s robust science curriculum by combining rigorous content with hands-on learning for lower school students. Towards the end of this year, students in first and second grades enjoyed some fun projects. First graders observed a butterfly life cycle and second graders dissected owl pellets. First graders were enthralled by witnessing metamorphosis firsthand as caterpillars transform into butterflies, deepening their understanding of life cycles through direct observation. During owl pellet investigations, second graders acted as scientists, examining bones to learn about food chains, predator-prey relationships, and animal adaptations.
