“The virtue of gratitude is especially important because it supports Everest’s mission by creating a positive environment that supports each child academically, socially, and faithfully. Whether it’s writing a note to another classmate or to a teacher, encouraging one another in the classroom or in sports, bringing positivity and a smile to the classroom each day, or saying a simple “thank you,” gratitude is what helps make Everest such a special place. Diego Ortega Machado is a student who embodies the virtue of gratitude. No matter what is going on, Diego greets the class each day with a positive attitude, a smile on his face, and always says “good morning.” He regularly supports his classmates within the classroom or out on the sports fields.
