In these short few weeks of junior kindergarten, Jesse has already been a wonderful example to his peers of charity.” -Mrs. Reichert, Junior Kindergarten Teacher

His thoughtful actions create a more welcoming environment for everyone, and he sets a wonderful example of what it means to live out the virtue of charity.” -Miss Giannone, Kindergarten Teacher

“I would like to nominate Alexandra Golling for the virtue of charity. Allie is always helping others in the classroom. She has helped pick up water bottles in the classroom and put them in their proper places. She always has a smile on her face and is ready to help anyone in need. It is an honor to recognize Allie for the virtue of charity.” -Mrs. Mick, First-Grade Teacher

Leo Donaldson

“I would like to nominate Leo Donaldson for the virtue of charity. Leo is always willing to help others with a smile on his face. Even though he has a hurt foot, this does not stop him from picking materials off the floor to make our classroom a safer place. He does all of this without being asked. It is an honor to nominate Leo for the virtue of charity.” -Mrs. Mick, First-Grade Teacher

Claire Kersey

“I would like to nominate Claire for the Mountaineer of the Month. Claire shows concern for others and their feelings. If someone is upset, she is right there to check on how they are doing and to see if she can help them.” -Mrs. McGrath, Second-Grade Teacher

Elizabeth Taykowski

“Elizabeth is a great example of charity. Each week, we focus on how we can show charity to our classmates by taking turns, listening to each other, and including others in our play. Every day, Lizzie is the first to offer help to anyone who needs it. She is kind, helpful, and understanding. She does what is asked of her and will wait patiently for her friends to check up. Keep up the good work, Lizzie!” -Miss Wildrick, Second-Grade Teacher

Corey Haezebrouck

“I would like to nominate Corey Haezebrouck for the virtue of charity. Almost every day at dismissal, you can find Corey cleaning up our classroom, making sure everything is put in the correct spot and making sure it looks spotless. Corey doesn’t need to be asked to help clean up the classroom, he just does it. He makes sure that the room looks better at the end of the day than it was when he first walked in. Corey is also one of the first students up and helping when someone spills a water bottle, drops their belongings, or needs some extra support. This does not change when Corey walks out of the school. On the playground and at dismissal, I have noticed Corey cleaning up after others just out of the kindness of his heart.” -Mr. O’Keefe, Third-Grade Teacher

Julia Flynn

“Julia displays the virtue of charity every day. She is quick to offer prayers for others and lend a helping hand. When a classmate was absent for a long week, Julia suggested to Father Christopher to mention this student in Mass. Julia is always thinking of others, has a smile on her face, and loves to give hugs.” -Mrs. Walker, Third-Grade Teacher

Zoey Motyka

“I would like to nominate Zoey Motyka for the virtue of charity. Zoey is an amazing helper in the classroom. She is always willing to help other classmates when they are struggling or need help. If someone spills or drops something, she is there to help them out. If there is a mess on the floor, she doesn’t worry about who made it, she cleans it up.” -Mr. O’Keefe, Third-Grade Teacher

Hunter Keegan

“Hunter helps his classmates with patience and understanding. He is a helping hand in the classroom. Without hesitation, Hunter smiles and guides his classmates through the assignments and class activities.” -Miss Guaderrama, Fourth-Grade Teacher

Tessa Iocco

“‘Teach us to give and to not count the cost’ (Saint Ignatius of Loyola). In today’s world, many find these words hard to live by. To give so generously is one of the ways Jesus calls us to serve one another. A student in the fourth grade who continuously gives of her time, her talents, her friendship, her positivity, and who is always looking for a way to brighten someone’s day and to serve is Tessa Ioco. Each day, Tessa shows what true charity looks like. Her ability to see a need and work to try and fulfill that need is who Tessa is. Tessa is a beautiful soul, and it is with honor that I nominate her as this month’s Mountaineer of the Month.” -Mrs. Motyka, Fourth-Grade Teacher

Lola Gjonaj

“Lola frequently demonstrates the virtue of charity throughout each school day as she offers to help others often and volunteers any time a task needs to be done. In addition, she does all of this with a cheerful attitude.” -Mr. Sapienza, Fifth-Grade Teacher
