This is a guest post by high school students in business and technological writing class.

“Everest’s fall sports season wrapped up before Thanksgiving. This season, our teams worked hard to grow as teams and make great memories on the court, on Phyle Field, and on the course. We interviewed a couple of our Mountaineer athletes from volleyball, football, cross country, and soccer. Here’s what Mountaineers had to say.

What was your favorite part of the season?

“My favorite part of the soccer season was scoring a header against Genesee Christian.” – Xavier Brikho ”27, Soccer

What was your biggest moment of adversity?

“Definitely the Everest home meet. It was raining hard,. The Everest course is already tough enough by itself with all the hills and uneven ground in the woods.” Anne Marie McNurlen ’26, Cross Country

How do you feel your team worked as a whole:?

“We definitely grew a lot as a team and built a strong brotherhood by hanging out outside of practice. When we were practicing, we put in the work during practice and performed pretty well.” – James McGrath ’27, Football

What are you going to miss most about the season?

“I am going to miss the exciting experience of playing volleyball. I’m especially mostly going to miss my teammates; many of them I have journeyed with since middle school” – Clare Terbrack ’25, Volleyball

We are going to miss our seniors, Class of 2025, as they finish out their last fall sports season. We will cheer on our Mountaineers as they go into the winter season of sports, continue to face adversity, and grow in virtue. Good luck to our athletes, and go Mountaineers!
