As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, students of all ages are enjoying fun activities from sledding to car races, Pinewood Derby, ice skating, bowling, and more. Students are also reflecting on the gift of Catholic education. They are sharing their favorite things at school from kindness to praying before and after class, the JPII and B16 Tournaments, friendships, the teachers, and more.

Augustine Gappy shared what his school means to him on today’s blog:

“Everest Academy is more than just a school to me; it’s a place I feel welcome and loved. I am inspired every day by teachers and friends. There are many reasons why I love being a part of the Everest community.

One of the main and most important reason that I love Everest is the teachers and staff. They truly care for us students. Whether it is helping me with a difficult lesson or encouraging me to do my best. They made my transition to a new school very welcoming and easy. They go above and beyond for me and all of my classmates.

Another reason why Everest is important to me is because of the strong faith and religion. I love to grow spiritually through prayer and Mass. I also love how the teachers constantly remind us of our faith. Being at Everest has helped me grow closer to God.

The friends that I have made at Everest is another reason why I love this school. All of my classmates are kind and supportive. They also help me with homework and more. This is what makes Everest fun and enjoyable. I also love being surrounded by welcoming classmates.

Lastly, Everest offers me a lot of opportunities to participate with the other students with activities such as ECYD and more. I also love participating in different events. These things allow me to bond with classmates and develop talents. Everest makes sure that students have something to look up to.

In conclusion, Everest is a place where I feel inspired to grow spiritually with God. The teachers open us to constant faith and remind us. The friendships, the welcoming friends, and more. All together, this school is a perfect environment for all of its students.”
