With two thirds of the school year complete, international students are realizing that, before they know it, their year in Michigan will be over. They have learned many lessons and are looking forward to making many more memories over the next three months. The students kicked off their third trimester with their annual ski trip up north.

The international boys shared some of the lessons they have learned so far this year, emphasizing their growth in their spiritual lives and their independence. Andres Saro shared, “Everest has helped me a lot in my spiritual life to have better relationship with Jesus.” Timothy Nguyen shared, “It helped me grow spiritually and develop as a person. It has helped me create goals for myself that I didn’t know I needed.” Angel Bueno added, “I learned about enjoying simple things, how to be independent, and grow as a person.”

The boys also shared that their goals for this last trimester include improving their grades and enjoying the time remaining with their friends. They are looking forward to their trips and the eighth-grade Cedar Point trip. They also want to continue to grow in their spiritual lives and friendship with Jesus. Ian Gaona shared that he is looking forward, “to take advantage of every second that I have here until I go back, because this has been so far the best year of my life.”
