Stella Milosch

“Stella displayed the virtue of gratitude throughout the month of November.  She is quick to say ‘thank you’ when she receives a piece of candy and even a worksheet.  She always uses her words to express her needs and wants.  Stella is grateful for all that she has!” -Mrs. McGrath, Kindergarten Teacher

Lennox Gentile

“Lennox shows gratitude in everything she does.  She is very thankful for everything she is learning and shows it by constantly saying, “thank you” to me.  She also shows gratitude to her classmates when they share supplies with her.  Lennox is very grateful for the things she has and does not focus on the things she doesn’t have.” -Mrs. Mick, Kindergarten Teacher

Colton Dankovich

“Colton exemplifies gratitude on a daily basis. He walks in with a smile on his face every day and is grateful to be in school. He loves to learn and is always excited to take on a new task. He appreciates even the smallest of things done for him and is always there with a thank you.” -Mrs. Van Pelt, First-Grade Teacher

Stella Ioco

“Stella is always very appreciative of the thing’s others do for her and always uses good manners. She is polite and kind to teachers and her classmates as well.” -Mrs. Ohlinger, Third-Grade Teacher

Aiden Owens, Sean Leahy, and Katherine Shea

“In his weekly article, A Cup of Joe, Father Joe Krupp wrote that in, ‘Psalm 50 the Lord tells us that if we want healing and closeness to God, we need to make a “sacrifice of thanksgiving.” If we base our gratitude on how we feel, we will always struggle. Instead, we must decide to be grateful. We must choose to pause, look at our lives and thank God for the innumerable blessings we take for granted.’ Aidan Owens, Sean Leahy, and Katherine Shea are three fourth-grade students who embody gratitude. They not only are appreciative of the blessings they receive; they work to share those blessings with others. It is with honor that I nominate Aidan, Sean, and Katherine as this month’s Mountaineers of the Month.” -Mrs. Motyka, Fourth-Grade Teacher

Theodore Sierminski

“Teddy is polite and kind all the time, but more importantly he displays gratitude on a daily basis.  It doesn’t matter what we do in class, he always says thank you.  You can see Teddy has a positive outlook on life because he constantly has a smile on his face.  He is also a giver; in fact, the other students and I look to Teddy to help us in many different ways.  He is a great example of gratitude.” -Mrs. Barone, Fourth-Grade Teacher

Gianna Wolschleger, Jase Steinbauer, Magnolia Heasley, and Aiden Felix

“Gianna, Jase, Magnolia, and Aiden have demonstrated in some way the virtue of gratitude by never complaining, always saying thank you, and expressing being thankful even while preparing for and taking exams.” -Mr. Sapienza, Fifth-Grade Teacher
