Fun times were had by all on the fourth-grade mother and child retreat.  The moms met with their children in the high school chapel for Mass, where Fr. Thomas took advantage to explain more in depth various aspects that take place and why we do what we do during Mass.  After Mass, Amelia Shripka led a reflection for the students and, with the help of Mrs. Motyka, had the students make an “explosion box” for their moms.  In each of the boxes, the students wrote what they were most grateful for regarding their moms, and they also made paper roses to put inside.  While Amelia was with the students, the moms met with Miss Rose, who shared a reflection on how we as humans all long to be known, loved, and accepted and that at the foundation of that desire our relationship with God is key.  After some good sharing and fellowship time, the students came back to join their moms.  They answered some questions getting to know each other better and then went to the gym to play a game called mountains and valleys with cups.  It was a fun game and everyone got their heart rate up. Thank you, moms, for this special morning!
