October is the month of the rosary, and October 7 is the feast of the Most Holy Rosary. “The feast was introduced by Pope St. Pius V (1504-1572) in the year 1571 to commemorate the miraculous victory of the Christian forces in the Battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571. The pope attributed more to the “arms” of the Rosary than the power of cannons and the valor of the soldiers who fought there.” – Rev. Matthew R. Mauriello

Everest Academy students came together to pray the living rosary on the feast day. Through the month various classes, sports teams, etc. make a special effort to take time to pray the rosary. Sixth graders are making rosaries in their homeroom. The football team took time to pray the rosary before last week’s homecoming victory.

“With the Rosary, the Christian people sits at the school of Mary and is led to contemplate the beauty on the face of Christ and to experience the depths of his love.” —From On the Most Holy Rosary. . . (Rosarium Virginis Mariae)
