Fall sports are underway for all but our youngest Mountaineers who will start 3v3 soccer and flag football next week. Our CYO athletes have have hit the ground running with wins or ties all around for the first week of competition.

Everest athletes will see less weekend competition this year in keeping with Detroit Archbishop’s pastoral letter calling for Sunday to be respected as the Lord’s day. “In shifting away from the hustle of required sporting activities on Sunday, we will reclaim this holy day and create more time for families to choose activities that prioritize time spent with each other and our Lord,” Archbishop Vigneron wrote in “The Day of the Lord,” released May 15 as the fourth in a series of teaching notes supporting the themes of his 2017 pastoral letter, Unleash the Gospel. Everest Collegiate High School & Academy is pleased to participate in this initiative in line with the hallmark of athletics played with purpose.

In addition to the teams mentioned below, Everest cheer and volleyball are also practicing for the season ahead. Congratulations athletes on a great start to the season. Go Mountaineers!
