The rising senior class recently experienced their class seminar with theme “Your Time is NOW.” The afternoon included a series of discussions and activities focused on helping students recognize their individual strengths and talents while encouraging them to work together as positive, engaged leaders for their upcoming senior year.
The first part of the seminar included a visit with EC alumnus Luke Walker, who spoke to the class about living a virtuous and joyful life as a senior and making the most of every opportunity during their final year of high school. His message encouraged them to continue to develop relationships with one another and to join together to make good things happen with the community.
Next, the juniors completed the StrengthsFinder assessment, which helped them better appreciate their unique gifts and recognize how they can use those strengths to serve others. After that, they participated in a fun follow-the-leader activity which reinforced the importance of modeling behaviors for their fellow students and demonstrated the impact that positive leadership can have within the school community. The last session involved conversation prompts that allowed individuals in the class to get to know each other better through healthy communication.
This session wraps up the high school class seminars for the year. Special thanks to the EC formation team including Mr. Reichert, Mrs. Ciaramella, Mrs. Van Wagoner, Miss Regina, Fr. Thomas Salazar, and Mr. Hostetter for carefully planning these workshops to help our students reach their full potential as future graduates of Everest Collegiate High School.
