The fifth graders had their last elementary mother & daughter retreat this year on March 20. Knowing they will be going into middle school next year, the girls enjoyed this quality time with their moms in a special way. After Mass, the moms stayed in the chapel for some reflection time led by Miss Jill Swallow on the power of positive thinking and seeing ourselves the way God does, while the girls designed their own conversation-starter game to play with their moms. They assigned a question they had for their mom for each color of M&Ms. Questions included things they always wanted to know about their moms when they were younger, “would you rather” questions, bucket list questions, and finding out favorite things to do together. It was an enjoyable time together – talking, getting to know each other more, and eating chocolate. After that they played a few more games, including some original relay races. We thank the fifth-grade moms for all of the support they give to their daughters every day and for joining us for this retreat!
