The freshmen recently had their first class seminar of their high school careers. The morning focused around the theme of “New Year, New You.” Mrs. Van Wagoner welcomed the group and encouraged the freshmen to take this opportunity to start high school with a fresh perspective of responsibility and independence. The Regnum Christi missionaries lead an ice breaker that helped the students get to know their classmates better. Mr. Reichert introduced seniors Dominic Walker and Isabella Ponce and invited them to share their advice on how to make the most of their high school experience by taking their academics seriously, staying close to Christ, and appreciating their classmates and teachers. After that, Mrs. Ciaramella provided an insightful presentation to the freshmen on the neuroplasticity of their brain and the importance of thinking positively and creating habits that will support their growth. The seminar concluded in the chapel with Fr. Thomas where he instructed the freshmen to set goals for high school and to write a letter to themselves explaining their aspirations for the next four years. They will receive this letter at their senior seminar. Overall, it was a productive morning with the EC Class of 2029.
