Everest’s preschool and junior kindergarten students were excited to come back to school with their dads in the evening for a father and child activity night. Since All Saints’ Day was around the corner, the first activity was and ABC Saints Scavenger Hunt. Students searched the hallways with their dads to find each letter of the alphabet and then read about the saint whose name began with that letter. After reading about the saint, there was also a suggestion of an exercise together because becoming a saint requires “exercises” to build good habits and virtues. Maybe some of the youngest students got inspiration from the saints they learned about for their saint costumes.
The students really enjoyed playing “Don’t Wake Daddy” and “Don’t Wake the Kids” with their dads. After the game, all the dads had a reflection with Fr. Thomas and the students stayed with Miss Rose to prepare a surprise for their dad. When the dads came back, each child gave their dad a new tie they had just made.
