Everest students joined Catholics around the world in prayer and excitement for the election of Pope Leo XIV. Mountaineers are familiar with the process of electing a pope, since each year the second grade class participates in a mock conclave on the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter. It was exciting to experience a true conclave for the first time, at least that they could remember! Middle school girls celebrated by enjoying a “pope party” in religion class to celebrate the 267th pope, Pope Leo XIV! The class started with a prayer for him, followed by treats, trivia, and sisterhood!
