Part of Everest’s safety program is an ongoing drill schedule. This year’s first security intruder drill was prefaced by an assembly for middle school and high school students. Everest’s safety training is crafted to ensure that students of differing ages are receiving information regarding the activity in a manner appropriate to grade level and age. The conversation, led by Mr. Reichert, Mr. Coffey, and the school’s safety officer, Mr. Hughes, helped students not only understand how to respond in a threat or a drill but also how to speak up and address concerns they may have.
