Everest’s middle school has a unique blend of multi-national students. With new students attending Everest’s international program, middle school students have the opportunity to make new friendships that stretch across the globe. Middle school friendships take time and effort to construct. Gone are the days of looking across the playground and naming another elementary student your “best friend” upon sight. Everest’s faculty and staff facilitates these friendships by building a middle school integration day into the start of the school year. This day, which falls during homecoming week, allows middle school students to spend the day playing games and having fun.
This year, the middle school girls headed off campus to the international girls’ dorm. With the incredible support of their teachers, missionaries, international program staff, and Miss Elizabeth, the girls enjoyed fun activities, games, and meaningful moments of prayer. They strengthened their friendships and learned more about the importance of community and faith. The day ended with a beautiful Mass, where they united their hearts giving thanks for all their blessings. It was a day filled with laughter, connection, and spiritual growth, an experience that reminded us all of the value of coming together in faith and friendship.
