Congratulations to the August Mountaineers of the Month who demonstrated the virtue of self-discipline! Each month, Everest elementary students participate in a spirit assembly. They review the virtue of the month and have the opportunity to recognize students who exemplified that virtue. Classes are also recognized for exceptional behavior and performance in the various specials classes.

Lenora Knoblock

“I would like to nominate Lenora Knoblock for Mountaineer of the Month. Lenora is quick to do what is asked of her and waits patiently for her classmates to follow suit. She helps her friends but also knows how to stay focused and on task.  In these short few weeks of junior kindergarten, Lenora has already been a wonderful example to her peers of self-discipline.” -Mrs. Reichert, Junior Kindergarten Teacher

Elise Stevens

“I would like to nominate Elise Stevens for the virtue of self-discipline.  Elise is always kind and considerate. She uses the voice that Jesus gave her to communicate with her teachers and classmates.” -Mrs. McGrath, Kindergarten Teacher

Solanus Nguyen

“Solanus has shown a great amount of self-discipline since the first week of school. He puts forth his best effort in all he does and encourages others to do the same. When he is asked to do something, he does so with no complaint.” -Mrs. Spieldenner, Kindergarten Teacher

Ella Nguyen

“I would like to recognize Ella Nguyen for the virtue of self-discipline.  Ella comes into class every day knowing the routine and getting right to work.  She always puts forth her best effort and follows the rules and procedures without being reminded of them.  Ella stays focused even when others around her can become distracting.  It is an honor to recognize Ella on this well-deserved nomination.” -Mrs. Mick, First-Grade Teacher

Reardon Anderson

“Reardon displays self-discipline in the way he keeps his desk very tidy. Never do I see loose papers or his school supplies out of place. Reardon always remembers to put things back where they belong in his desk.” -Miss Wildrick, Second-Grade Teacher

Maxwell Leahy

“Max has shown great self-discipline so far this year. He uses his time wisely to get his work done. Even after being absent, he came back to school and completed his missing work quickly not wanting to fall behind. He is always prepared and finishes whatever he puts his mind to. Keep up the hard work!” -Mrs. Walker, Third-Grade Teacher

Wesley Vantine and Marianne Schmitt

“On the first day of school, students eagerly – and some nervously – made their way to their new classroom, where their excited teacher awaited them. One of the first conversations was about how to live out the virtue of self-discipline. The class was challenged not only to embrace these virtues but also to be a visible light for others to follow.

A handful of students immediately took on this role, becoming that visible light. They practiced self-discipline by helping others, warmly welcoming both new and former classmates, staying focused, and showing respect in the classroom. They consistently gave their best effort in everything they did.

Two students whose embodiment of self-discipline never wavered are Marianne Schmitt and Wesley Vantine. It is with great honor that I nominate these two students as this month’s Mountaineers of the Month.” -Mrs. Motyka, Fourth-Grade Teacher

Leo Dziekoński

“Leo Dziekoński demonstrates a constant preparedness throughout each school day. His work is clear and accurate; his cubbies and desk are clean and organized; and he always works diligently.” -Mr. Sapienza, Fifth-Grade Teacher
