As a part of the newly-completed field renovation, a new shrine with a crucifix stands looking out over the field. During this year’s annual Founders’ Day celebration, the Christ the King Shrine was dedicated with the entire student body present. Headmaster and high school principal reminded students that all we do is centered on and in the name of Christ. After Mass, the students as well as the Schuele family and several members of the board of directors proceeded to the shrine for a blessing and to pray a decade of the Rosary.

At the event’s conclusion, Mr. Reichert announced that in honor of Founders’ Day and this special occasion, students would have fifteen minutes of extra recess this year and every subsequent Founders’ Day. Everest’s founding priest, Fr. Gomez, LC, would grant students extra recess on First Fridays in honor of the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Everest thanks Coach Schuele and his family for the generous gift of the shrine. The shrine is dedicated to Christ in the King in memory of Coach’s father, David Schuele, and Coach Pruchnicki.
