She is a wonderful example of responsibility.” -Mrs. Reichert, Junior Kindergarten Teacher

Charles Muñoz, Giada Tocco, & Rodolfo Torres

“The virtue this month is responsibility. When looking at the meaning of responsibility, we were looking beyond the completion of everyday tasks. The meaning of responsibility in the classroom is not limited to doing what is expected/required. Rather, it is a value a person has acquired through hard work, discipline in their behavior and studies, being on time and prepared for class, working well with others, thinking of their teacher as a partner in their learning, and trying to make each day better than the last. Three students in fourth grade were observed as embodying the virtue of responsibility. These three students are Rudy Torres, Giada Tocco, and Charlie Muñoz. Rudy, Giada, and Charlie always have assignments completed on time, work hard throughout the school day, work with the teacher to master concepts, and they work to make each day better than the last. It is with honor that I nominate Giada, Rudy, and Charlie as this month’s Mountaineers of the Month.” -Mrs. Motyka, Fourth-Grade Teacher

Sean Leahy

“I nominate Sean because he shows responsibility and understands what he must do on a daily basis.  Sean takes responsibility for his actions and doesn’t make excuses.  He also admits if he has made a mistake and tries to do better the next time.  That is taking responsibility for yourself and your belongings.” -Mr. Sapienza, Fifth-Grade Teacher

Vaira Mulrenin

“Vaira shows responsibility daily, both in and out of school. She is responsible for her schoolwork, especially when she checks to make sure she’s on the right path.  She almost always double checks what her homework is for the night and manages her time effectively. With her school sports teams and with her equestrian interests, she stays responsible with her school work.” -Mrs. Barone, Fifth-Grade Teacher
