Congratulations to December’s Mountaineers of the Month who demonstrated the virtue of obedience!

Isabelle Long

“Belle listens and follows directions in the classroom every day.  When Belle is asked to complete a task, she always does it with a happy heart.  If she sees me completing a task, she will ask if she can help me.  While we are in chapel, she is always listening to what God asks of her.” -Mrs. Reichert, Junior Kindergarten Teacher

He is always doing what he is asked and never complains about the task in front of him, in fact he is always excited about what we are doing in the classroom.  He listens to what is being said and at times finds a better way to make things easier. He offers to help others, he is prepared for class, and he is a wonderful student and friend to his peers. I am so proud of Wesley!” -Miss Wildrick, Second-Grade Teacher

Micah Abraham

“Micah obeys God in that he recognizes what is right and wrong and mostly chooses to do the right thing.  If a mistake is made, he will make up for it and try his hardest to not make the same mistake.  If a mistake is made by others, he will politely correct it and ask a question.  With his peers, he can have fun but he also knows what’s appropriate and acceptable.  Micah is a wonderful example of obedience.” -Mrs. Barone, Fourth-Grade Teacher

Jacob Luginski and Lilianna Duncan
“Throughout the month of December, the fourth grade focused on two meanings of the word obedience. First, obedience means the “act or practice of obeying” (dictionary.com). Second, is the meaning of obedience as told in the Bible. There are several scriptures that tell us the meaning of obedience. For example, ‘If you love me, you will keep my commandments’ (John 14:15), and ‘But Peter and the apostles answered, ‘We must obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29).

Both Lilianna Duncan and Jacob Luginski practiced the virtue of obedience this month. These two students work on their assignments when asked, participate in lessons, do things that are asked of them throughout the school day, are obedient at Mass, very rarely have to be redirected, and are good helpers. It is with honor that I nominate Jacob Luginski and Lilianna Duncan as this month’s Mountaineer’s of the Month.” -Mrs. Motyka, Fourth-Grade Teacher

Vinay Iyer, Ella Cross, and Isabella Wheeler

“I would like to nominate Vinay Iyer, Ella Cross, and Izzy Wheeler as great examples of obedience for Mountaineer of the Month. All three have done exactly as asked, and I have not heard any complaints from any of them. They have worked very hard and always put in their best work.” -Mr. Sapienza, Fifth-Grade Teacher
