All season Antonio Santoro, Kevin Cronin, Gavin Ryeson, and John Morrison went neck and neck with top competitors as they continued to shave time off of their 4×100 relay. After missing the additional qualifying standard for the state competition by hundredths of a second in 2021, the team was determined to compete at states. Freshman Kevin Cronin joined the team, replacing graduate Emiliano Ramirez ’21.

By the beginning of May, the team had broken their previous record. They took second at the regional competition to Flint Beecher, qualifying for the state meet. A week later, at the Oakland County Championship they once again broke their record, this time achieving the #1 ranked position in the state. At the state competition on June 4, John Morrison pulled away for finalists Muskegeon Heights in the last straight to win by .17 seconds, setting a new school record of 44.17.

Together with the 4×100 team, Gavin Ryeson also was recognized as an all-state athlete placed 3rd in the 300 hurdles and 5th in the 110 hurdles.
