Seven new members were inducted into Everest Collegiate High School’s Troup 8546 of the International Thespian Society on Thursday, March 10. Over fifty students have been inducted into the troupe through Everest’s history. Headmaster Mr. Reichert welcomed the high school students and reflected on St. John Paul the Great’s Letter to Artists.

“I appeal especially to you, Christian artists: I wish to remind each of you that, beyond functional considerations, the close alliance that has always existed between the Gospel and art means that you are invited to use your creative intuition to enter into the heart of the mystery of the Incarnate God and at the same time into the mystery of man for the betterment of all the world.”

The induction ceremony included several student presentations as well as highlights from the Michigan Thespian Festival field trip in the fall, the candle lighting, the new member pledge, and honor awards. Congratulations to all the new inductees and awards recipients:

New Inductees: Alicia Emmert-Buck, Evelyn Kirby, Rosalia Person, Zoe Schlaud, Lily Taylor, Lucille Thewes, Jack Villella

Honor Thespians: Caroline Beggs, Andrea Gonzalvo, Mary Pearson

National Thespian: Luke Walker, Kristina Moran, Stephanie Suran

International Thespians and also both recognized as Thespian of the Year: Angela Tibudan and Michelle Villella

The ceremony concluded with a sneak preview of a scene from next weekend’s spring play High School Musical.
