Congratulations to the February Mountaineers of the Month who demonstrated the virtue of honesty.

Ruby Taylor

“I would like to nominate Ruby Taylor for mountaineer of the month for honesty.  Ruby is always honest with her teacher and her friends.  She is straightforward and truthful, even when it may be uncomfortable to do so.  She is a wonderful example of sincerity, loyalty, and truthfulness to her classmates.” -Mrs. Reichert, Junior Kindergarten Teacher

Colton Dankovich

“Colton is a trustworthy student whom I can always count on.  He is always eager to try something new even when it might not come easy to him.  He communicates well with his teachers and classmates.” -Mrs. McGrath, Kindergarten Teacher

Sophia Dankovich, Julian Davila, Nathan Kuron, and Gabriel Seibt

“Sophia, Julia, Nathan, and Gabriel show honesty in a variety of ways each day. Even when they may be in a tough situation that may get them in trouble they always choose to be honest. When they make a mistake they always own up to it and apologize. You can always count on these students to tell you the truth no matter the situation. They are champions of honesty!” -Miss Gjokaj, Second-Grade Teacher

Ryan Dale

“‘I am honest to myself and to others, I try to present myself and my reactions accurately to each person, and I take responsibility for my actions'” (VA Institute on Character). Honesty is more than just ‘not telling a lie.’ The virtue of honesty encompasses our words and our actions. When thinking about the virtue of honesty, one student in the fourth grade immediately came to mind – Ryan Dale. Ryan’s words and actions are reflective of someone who lives out the virtue of honesty. He speaks honestly, and never deceives others. Having this virtue, Ryan proves to be a trustworthy student and friend in the classroom. It is with great honor that I nominate Ryan Dale as this month’s Mountaineer of the Month.” -Mrs. Motyka, Fourth-Grade Teacher
