On Wednesday, December 12, about 60 students in grades 6-8 consecrated the rest of their lives to Jesus Christ through Mary in what is traditionally called Marian Consecration. Over a 33-day period of preparation, they read, prayed, and studied about the virtues of Mary and asked her to share them. They followed in the footsteps of St. Louis de Montfort, St. Teresa of Calcutta, St. Maximilian Kolbe, and many other spiritual heavyweights to the height of Consecration.
Fr. Timothy Wysocki, LC celebrated the Mass of Consecration on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe and gave a heartfelt homily about Our Lady of Knock and Mary’s constant accompaniment of those consecrated to her Immaculate Heart. Father reminded the children of Mary that, just as at Knock, Mary will be the silent companion and faithful friend throughout the most difficult of times.
After the Mass and prayer of Consecration, the student proceeded to the international dining room to a luncheon prepared for them to celebrate this momentous occasion. May the blessed Virgin be forever with them!
