Elizabeth Mileski
“When the fourth grade talked about the meaning of perseverance this month, students said perseverance is “not giving up, putting forth your best effort, not complaining, and whatever you do-keep trying.” These are all excellent behaviors of someone who has the virtue of perseverance. In fourth grade, we teach students how to move from “this is too hard” to “this may take some time and effort, but I can do it!” This shift in behavior and thinking is why I nominated Elizabeth Mileski as this month’s Mountaineer of the Month. Elizabeth comes to school every day ready to learn. She never complains or becomes discouraged, even when things are hard. Elizabeth consistently puts forth her best effort, learns from her mistakes, remains positive, is focused, and makes positive contributions to the classroom. Not only does Elizabeth possess the qualities of perseverance, but she willingly gives her time, intellect, patience, and friendship to nurture and support others. It is with honor that I nominate Elizabeth Mileski as this month’s Mountaineer of the Month.” – Mrs. Motyka, Fourth-Grade Teacher

Rather, Auggie tries new strategies, asks questions, and seeks help when needed. Throughout the year, Auggie has learned that improvement takes time and practice. He consistently works through obstacles and remains committed to learning. Auggie is an example of determination and resilience. Auggie reminds me of St. Jose Sanchez del Rio who persevered in his faith, even in the toughest of situations.” -Miss Guaderrama, Fourth-Grade Teacher
