The third grade classrooms had their mother and child retreats back to back. The students were excited to have their to have special guests on campus and to show off their reading skills. Two students from each class practice and rehearsed the readings for Mass. After Mass, the students and guests played sharks and minnows in the gym. Then they had a pop quiz to see who know the other’s favorite things better, followed by some conversation starts helping the pairs to share more deeply. Then they played human bingo allowing them to learn a little bit more about the others in their classroom. After the students when back to class, the moms stayed for a reflection with Miss Rose based on Matthew Kelly’s book, The Three Ordinary Voices of God.
