Recently, six Everest Collegiate High School student-athletes joined fellow Catholic League students for the St. Sebastian Day leadership conference. This year’s meeting was held virtually due to forecasted weather conditions on its scheduled date. Upperclassmen from various CHSL schools participated in the event and spent the day reflecting on their roles as team leaders grounded in faith, character, and virtue. The participants began by celebrating Mass and sharing breakfast together before logging to the group session. The conference featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including a welcome from Mike Evoy, CHSL Interim Director, followed by student leadership training led by Kristin Sheehan, Program Director for Play Like a Champion Today. Additional speakers included Owen Carapellotti of University of Detroit Jesuit, Georgetown University, and Major League Baseball, as well as Molly Campbell, Athletic Director at Marian High School. The participants had the opportunity to share some of their most memorable take aways from the day.
