As December begins, the sophomore boys had their annual retreat at the Subiaco Retreat Center in Oxford. The theme of the retreat was “A Real Man is a Man of God”. On Monday evening, former Everest parent, Brandon Gentile, came to share his experience playing hockey at a collegiate level and the world of professional sports with its pressures. Fr. Terrance Allen, LC conducted adoration with the boys that night. It was a powerful spiritual experience for them.

The following day, Mr. Maul directed an activity titled “The 5 Shifts of Manhood”.  The boys broke up into small groups and discussed one of the five shifts that each boy needs to make in his life to become a man. The boys gave good presentations and had quality comments on each of the “shifts”. The retreat ended with Mass. The boys had a great time. Let us pray to God asking Him to continue to guide these boys as they take those steps towards becoming men of God.
