Year round, Mountaineers are provided with opportunities to form apostolic hearts. During Lent, there is a special focus on the Lenten disposition of almsgiving. Elementary students participate in Mountaineer Mission Day projects. Everest ECYD students served the homeless in Detroit and participated in an ECYD mission weekend. High school students participated in the annual Mountaineer Mission Day in which they go out to serve in the community. This year, students served at the Baldwin Center, The Well of Waterford, D.R.A.W., Grace Centers of Hope, Lourdes Senior Community, and Magnolia by the Lake. Thank you, students, for your service!
Senior Clare Terbrack shared, “My favorite part of mission day was seeing the smiles light up on the residents faces when they heard it we were going to chat with them or help organize their rooms.” Freshman Mary McGrath shared, “My favorite part of mission day was being able to hear the story from a young woman of how she built her relationship with God, and I enjoyed doing the outdoor clean-up with my friends.”
