Our high school English teacher and resident bookbinder Mr. Mileski has once again hand made pilgrimage journals for the senior class. Mr. Mileski made 35 custom journals for the seniors and chaperones going on the trip this year.

“Charity is the love we show to others. When I was a kid, my parish priest told me that charity should be given in the form of time, talent, and treasure; and that it should be given in that order. I wanted to show my love for the senior class so I decided to give over some time and my talent to help their trip be a little more special,” shared Mr. Mileski

He estimated that it took him roughly 65 hours to complete the books from cutting the paper, folding, punching holes, sewing, gluing the spines, adding the oxford hollows and headbands, covering the hinges in bookcloth, making the decorative paper covers using a Japanese marbling technique, and finally applying the labels and pasted prayers to the inside of each book.
