The seventh-grade girls retreat was themed “unmasked” and focused on the virtue of authenticity. Each girl received a mask, and throughout the retreat the girls delved into questions like: “What are the labels I put on myself or others put on me?” “What makes me unique and beautiful?” “What would happen if I showed my true self?” The girls rotated through stations, and in each station they had time for reflection, sharing, and decorating a part of their mask. The retreat finished with adoration where they discovered their deepest self as a beloved child of God. They went before God and removed their mask and asked Jesus to show them how they were loved as they are.
