Each year, in honor of the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter the second graders have the opportunity to learn more about the process of electing the pope but holding their own conclave. The students pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and vote for their male classmates who live out the virtues the school invites students to practice. Later this month, on the feast day, the second-grade “pope” and his Swiss Guards will visit all Mountaineers.
This year’s pope-elect is Benjamin Page and his Swiss Guards will be Joshua Neiman and Reardon Anderson.
