As the northern lights shone above campus on Friday, May 10, an evening of faith and fundraising wound down inside the enormous tent in Everest’s front parking lot.
Mountains were moved as bidders raised their paddles to raise over $400,000 in the room – kicked off by EC alumni – to support Everest’s mission as well as a dedicated fund-a-need for updates in the entrance and gymnasium at the rear of the high school. A video prepared by Everest parent, Jason Pietras, sketched the potential scope of the project from the hallway to the bathrooms, storage spaces, locker rooms, and the gym itself for use for athletics, fine arts, and many student activities. With the funds generously donated, initial concepts will be revisited, quotes obtained, and the scope and timing of the work planned out by Everest leadership. We look forward to sharing more information as it becomes available!
“It is easy to focus on the mountains moved. It is easy to consider only what project comes next, what funds can be raised, which priority should be addressed. If we aren’t careful, we can easily forget the prerequisite: faith the size of a mustard seed.” -Mr. Michael Nalepa, President, Gala Letter
