EC basketball ended its season with district titles for both the boys and the girls. The girls advanced through to the regional final, falling to Kingston in what their school leadership called “one of the toughest games they’d played all season.” A student support bus headed out to the thumb to attend the game and rejoiced on their return when a snow day was called. EC boys advanced to the regional semifinal played at Oakland Christian. A huge Everest crowd turned out to support the Mountaineers as they played a tight game, leading Cardinal Mooney into the half but ultimately losing 39-44.
The girls team was also awarded Academic All-State by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan with an average GPA of 3.5950.
