Four years ago, EC soccer didn’t have a title to its name. The team’s banner in the gym hung blank. This year’s the team claimed its fourth district title in a row! Athletic director Mrs. Serra-Lowney reflected, “When I hired Coach Haezebrouck 12 years ago, he took over a program that had three different head coaches in three years. At the time of his hire, I was looking for a coach who was committed to building a program our community and our students could be proud of. I think it is fair to say Coach Haezebrouck gave our community and the players he coached exactly that. Thanks to Coach Haezebrouck’s love for his players, love for the school, and love for our mission, he took a struggling program and turned it into one of the top Division IV soccer programs in the state.”
Over the past four years the Mountaineers have earned, one league title, one CHSL finals appearance, four district titles, three regional titles, and an appearance the MHSAA Division IV state finals. Congratulations, Mountaineers!
