EC students have the opportunity to learn how to conduct a formal debate in Mr. Peterson’s history classes. Recently U.S. Government students debated the proposition: “This house concludes that the president’s nominee, Judge Kentanji Brown Jackson, should be confirmed as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.”

Students demonstrated exceptional research and rhetoric skills in formulating arguments for this current event. Ultimately, the opposition won by a narrow margin.

Upcoming debates in A.P. U.S. History and government classes include the topic of World War II as well as the electoral college.
