The first few weeks of school have been very busy for international students. After school activities are just as busy with sports clinics and games as well as Friday night football and weekend outings. Here are some of the weekend highlights:

On Saturday, September 11, the girls went to the Detroit Zoo where they had a lot of fun. They saw different animals such as giraffes, rhinos, polar bears, camels, reptiles, and many more. We ate a delicious pizza for lunch on the rooftop of a restaurant inside the zoo.

“We have had an amazing time at Everest this first weeks. We have gone to Mackinac Island and the sand dunes in Lake Michigan. At the dunes we had a great time sand boarding, It was so difficult to be able to stand and slide on the board but we all got the hang of it after a few good falls.” Juan Tress

“I had an amazing time sand boarding at the dunes. The water in Lake Michigan was freezing, but we still had a blast. Riding bikes on Mackinac Island was also a really nice experience, I really liked the fudge!” -Mauricio Nahed

“Last Saturday the International girls went to Westview, an apple and pumpkin farm where they had a lot of fun. They enjoyed the different attractions such as the jumping pad, the black hole, the farm animals, the straw mountain, the corn maze, and last and most important the apple trees where they collected their own selection of apples. We ate the apples. They tried the delicious apple cider cinnamon donuts and of course the apple cider itself. The girls really enjoyed this outing, and they left very happy.
