The theme for the eighth grade retreat was “No greater love”. Taking place during Lent, the students reflected on what it meant for Jesus to give his life for our salvation on the cross, like the greatest of friends.

The retreat started with some bonding games, followed by a few videos and a reflection given by Celine Legg, Celeste James, and Sally McGrath, high school students who came to help lead the retreat. After that, the students had a chance to reflect on their own life and struggles and nail them to the Cross of Jesus who reminds them they are not alone.

Mass was a highlight for many students, who later shared how it really helped them to live the mystery and realize what is really happening during every Mass. After lunch, they had fun finding the different characters of the Passion and competing to fulfill challenges by teams. At the end of the day they had adoration and an opportunity to reflect on the takeaways from the retreat.
