Catholic schools around the country celebrated Catholic Schools Week January 31-February 6. Everest students celebrated each day’s theme with special dress days and competitions. Students competed for points by school-level division. The winning class earns a pizza party and a jeans day. Lower elementary students each had a special sledding day and participated in classroom activities.

Sunday we celebrated our parishes. Students wrote thank you notes to their parish priests. Everest had a display at St. Daniel in Clarkston promoting Catholic education.

On Monday, we celebrated our community. Penny wars began in the academy, supporting our school. Students sports spirit wear for Mountaineer Monday. Today’s activities included scooter races and a free throw competition.

On Tuesday, we celebrated our students. Fr. Thomas visited classrooms to give a special blessing. Students wore sports team shirts or jerseys. Upper elementary students participated in the paper airplane competition. Preschool enjoyed a special walk and picnic snack in the woods!

On Wednesday, we celebrated our nation. Middle schoolers led a rosary for our nation over the loud speaker. Today’s special activities included middle school’s game of “knock them down!”

On Thursday, we celebrated vocations. Students enjoyed wacky color dress and twin day. Miss Gaby and Miss Rose, formation coordinators, wore both wacky colors and dressed as twins! Our pries

ts are always dressed as twins. Upper elementary enjoyed the annual Pinewood derby.

Friday was a snow day, so the celebrations of faculty, staff, and volunteers was rescheduled for Monday. We had our Catholic Schools Week Mass. Middle schoolers had a half day and were able to opt in for a special ski deal at Pine Knob in the afternoon.

On Saturday, we celebrated our families with the family sledding event.
