As has been a tradition for nearly ten years, Everest women gathered on Shrove Tuesday for good food, great atmosphere, and inspiration from a guest speaker. This year’s event attendance was a record breaker with 19 tables and almost 150 women in attendance.  Mardi Gras is known to be a favorite among Everest moms, teachers, and friends who love the festive atmosphere combined with spiritual reflection before the rigors of Lent begin.

This year our guest speaker Father Thanh Nguyen, a Legionary priest, did not disappoint.  Father shared his thoughts on how women can live prayer, fasting, and almsgiving during this holy season. Drawing from personal experience and observations of his own mother’s deep faith and life of prayer, he challenged the women to go deeper.  Mardi Gras will continue to be an Everest highlight for years to come.

Are you looking for additional ways to live Lent more deeply? Join Everest women for Mardi Gras Afterglow on Tuesday evenings throughout Lent.
