Everest believes that the contribution of parent volunteers is a valuable and essential factor in building community and contributing to the integral formation of the students. We have many school traditions and exciting events that are made possible due to parent involvement. The Everest parent community sets an example for their students by giving an impressive 5,000 volunteer hours on average per school year.
In 2003, the U.S. Catholic Bishops made recommendations that all Catholic schools need to follow to ensure a safe environment for all students. Everest follows the U.S. Catholic Bishops recommendations along with other school wide safe environment initiatives. We require all active volunteers to have a Protecting God’s Children certificate of completion on file along with a Criminal Background check prior to volunteering.
Completion of this workshop ensures that all adults at Everest will be trained in recognizing suspicious behaviors and potential dangers that could affect our students. As part of our safe environment initiative, we require all volunteers to complete both requirements and obtain clearance from our business office before they can participate at any school activity or event.
