The third-grade class was extra excited to get back to school after Christmas break because they couldn’t wait to have their moms join them for their morning retreat. Several of them wanted to show off their public speaking skills by reading at the Mass they had together. After Mass, while the moms had a reflection and fellowship together with Miss Rose, two high school students, Duncan Brown and Jack Villella, shared personal testimonies. One of them shared that in order to ensure he has sets time aside for God each day, he sets a 10 minute timer and just spends that time talking with and trying to listen to God. Then the students came back to join their moms; they each took a quiz to see how well they knew each other. Then, they played a game in the gym. The retreat ended with them filling out a certificate together indicating how they want to try and do something special together once a month.
