Dr. Mike Stafford, an archaeologist at Cranbrook, was a guest lecturer in marine biology class Monday, January 27. Dr. Stafford has been scuba diving on coral reefs all over the world for over 40 years. He spoke about his diving adventures showing the students several original, high quality underwater videos, global reef ecology, Michigan’s history of marine environments, global warming, reef conservation, and the future of coral reefs. The students were engaged, amazed, and curious about what the fate of coral reefs worldwide will be. Dr. Stafford will be back in the spring to talk to he students about Michigan marine ecology.
