October Mountaineers of the Month

November 13, 2019

Congratulations October Mountaineers of the Month! Elementary students focused on the virtue of respect this month. Middle school students focused on purity as a gift of self and respect as a path of true love.

Dominik Dziekonski

"Dominik shows respect in the classroom by always listening to his classmates when they are sharing. He is always saying please, thank you, and treating his friends the way Jesus has taught us. Dominik helps others with the kindness of his heart."

-Mrs. Wildrick, Second Grade

June Heasley

"June is a beautiful example of the virtue of respect. She is always kind, helpful, and polite to her classmates and her teacher. She shows respect in the classroom by always being the first one to clean up a mess without being asked, even if it isn't hers. She affirms her friends and congratulates them when they do well. June is also a wonderful example on how to behave and be respectful in the chapel and during class time."

-Mrs. Reichert, Junior Kindergarten

Lauren Fotherby

"Lauren exemplifies the virtue of respect on a daily basis through her kind words and actions. She is very polite and always uses her manners. Lauren is a caring and loving friend to all of her classmates."

-Mrs. DePorre, Third Grade

Jimmy Nedwick

"Jimmy demonstrated respect by showing sincere concern for another student who was coughing in the hallway between classes. Although this may be a small gesture, he took the time to show care and concern for someone rather than just passing by."

-Mrs. Hickey, Academy School Counselor

Renata Martin Del Campo

"Renata definitely demonstrates self-respect and tries her best at her school work. She is one of the hardest working students in all my classes. She is very diligent, and she is a great example for her classmates."

- Mrs. Luttinen, Eighth Grade

Mountaineers of the Month were recognized at October's monthly spirit assembly. Led by dean of discipline Mr. Cross, the assembly featured the fight song, student recognitions, and even a putting contest!
