Fire inspector Greg Brandt from the Independence Township Fire Department came to visit Everest Academy’s preschool and talk to them about fire safety. Students learned about smoke detectors, what to do when they hear one go off, how to check if it is safe to exit their room if there is a fire at night, and what to do if they cannot safely exit their room.
Students also had the opportunity to see the fire fighter put on all his gear. He demonstrated for the students how fire fighters stay low to the ground, and what they sound like when they speak through their masks. The visit ended with high fives all around!
