Michigan Thespian Festival

Thirteen of Everest Collegiate’s International Thespian Society scholars participated in the Michigan Thespian Festival in Grand Rapids with over 1,000 other Michigan students this December.  While there, EC students competed in individual events in front of professionals in the theatre business to receive awards in the ratings of Fair (Scores of 5-7 out of 20), Good (8-12), Excellent (13-17), and Superior (18-20).  Everest students performed well with two Good ratings, 5 Excellent, and 3 thespian achieving Superior ratings. Congratulations to senior Kirsty Liu, junior Grace Miller, and sophomore Theresa Waller on this accomplishment!

EC students also watched other productions performed by area schools, visited colleges to view their respective theatre programs, attended workshops (aerial movement and makeup courses were favorites), and competed for scholarships.  They even enjoyed Grand Rapids life and went ice skating downtown!  The biggest success was of the over 9 million dollars offered in scholarships this weekend. Seniors Kirsty Liu and Olivia Mandziuk were together offered nearly $200,000! Everest is known for talented students, and the talent in our arts program is no exception.  Congratulations to these fine thespians!
